Loyal fans, friends, and listeners,
I found a report recently that truly disturbed me:
A Rasmussen poll has revealed that almost half of Americans support the introduction of vaccine passports in order to get “back to normal.”
The findings were released over the Easter period, and noted that 44% of Americans said that a government run system requiring proof of vaccination is a “good idea”…
The poll dovetails with similar findings in the UK, where a majority of 62% said they would support the mandating of vaccine passports to visit pubs or restaurants, while only 22% opposed the idea.
Who are we as a people if we begin to police each other based on who and who hasn’t taken a vaccine for an illness with a 99% recovery rate? Are we freer? Are we safer? I fear the America of my childhood is becoming an even farther memory from what I once new in the wake of this so called “brave new world” we’re told we’ll have to accept as the norm going forward.
By the way! We do have something we can do in the meantime thanks to our friend Ken LaCorte from the Media Action Network:
It’s time to make baseball great again!
By now you probably know the MLB moved their All-Star game out of Georgia, citing (wrong) claims about the new voter law.
The decision is wrong on so many levels. For one, the reasons they cite simply aren’t true. Also, sports leagues and businesses shouldn’t inject themselves into politics. If they insist on doing so, they should probably start with China and their horrible human rights violations instead.
In a nonsensical move, the MLB is now having the game in Colorado.
The logical response is to refuse to watch. But we got to thinking – what sort of competing event could Georgia put on that would not only deprive the MLB of viewers and fans, but could also recoup some of the much-needed revenue they’re losing?
As we talked, especially with the folks at the excellent podcast “The World According to Ben Stein,” producer Judah Friedman had a great idea.
President Trump should hold a rally.
So that’s it. We’re petitioning former President Trump to organize a rally in Georgia, to take place on July 13 at the time of the MLB All-Star Game in Denver. Not only can people boycott watching or going to the game, but they can also signal their support for conservatives and stand up against the ignorant lies surrounding Georgia’s voter law.
You in? Sign the petition below!
Your humble servant,
Ben Stein
