NASCAR President Not Happy With "Let's Go, Brandon" Chants
Well, we thought he'd have a sense of humor
My friends,
“Let’s go, Brandon!” has transcended from insult to movement. It brings us laughs while also calling out the issues of our time. Yet the battle cry is bringing with it some critics, some from places we didn’t expect.
According to the AP News:
AVONDALE, Ariz. (AP) — NASCAR denounced its association with the “Let’s go, Brandon”political cry being used across the country as an insult directed at President Joe Biden. Steve Phelps, NASCAR’s president, said Friday the top motorsports series in the United States does not want to be associated with politics “on the left or the right.”
Phelps also said NASCAR will pursue action against any illegal use of its trademarks on merchandise boasting the slogan. Retired baseball star Lenny Dykstra posted a photo on Twitterthis week of a man eating breakfast at a New Jersey hotel wearing a black “Let’s go, Brandon” shirt alongside NASCAR’s trademarked color bars.
“We will pursue whoever (is using logos) and get that stuff,” Phelps said. “That’s not OK. It’s not OK that you’re using our trademarks illegally, regardless of whether we agree with what the position is.”
Say it loud and say it proud! Let’s go, Brandon!"
Your humble servant,
Ben Stein

The “Let’s go, Brandon” movement reminds me so much of the history of “Yankee Doodle Dandy.” The British meant it as an insult, but in true American mischief, we laughed and turned it around on them to make it a proud revolutionary anthem.
If he really wanted to denounce it, he'd ban the reporter who started it.
