Friends,
You may not realize it, but this is truly a time to be proud to be an American. Why you ask? If you’re a conservative you’re mad about the election, you’re mad about the media, you’re mad about Cancel Culture and so much more. If you’re a liberal, you’re worried about your own set of worries and concerns, which might even be valid ones.
No matter who you are, where you’re from, or where you are in life, there will always be a reason to be mad about the current world and scared about the future. Yet right now, we have a moment to look at something amazing and think “Wow! How did this happen? Where do we go from here?”
I’m talking about the Perseverance Mars Rover. The Space Race was one of my generation’s defining moments, but for the young people of today especially, getting this specific tool to land on Mars signifies America’s place in the world once again. You might not hear “America First” from many politicians or pundits online or on TV, but many of our actions scream it loud and clear.
You want to talk about unity? Let’s think about this. A team of people from around the country, all different from each other in some unique way coming together for a singular mission; to propel humanity into the stars. Liberals, conservatives, Jews, Christians, blacks, whites, the list of varying details goes on and on. From the designers to the programmers, engineers and computer scientists, all the employees of NASA that helped make this moment possible represent the true spirit of American ingenuity, and what happens when we work together and pour our hearts out into a project so we can be successful, together.
As space pioneer and astronaut John Glenn once said:
"Don't give in to complacency and cynicism. Don't ignore what is bad, but concentrate on building what is good. Don't take America and the values reflected in our form of government for granted. And never forget that in our democracy, the government is not 'them' -- it is 'us.'"
Stay humble, stay healthy, and be happy my friends. We can still shoot for the stars.
your humble servant,
Ben Stein

It's fool hearty to believe we can work with todays liberals. That's not going to happen, because they won't allow it.
Yes, with vision, and a few bucks, people can make dreams into reality. Ben,
